The site slopes down towards the north east, providing maximum sun into each home while maintaining privacy and individuality. The internal spaces have a timeless natural tone and textural palette, and showcase a sculptural hung staircase. The timber patterned precast concrete exterior wall panels and cedar cladding blend serenely with the natural setting. Oversized floor to ceiling glazing allows the green exterior into the interior spaces. The house comprises of a substantial living area adjacent to a master bedroom pavilion which run parallel to the beach side. Full height sliding glass doors on both sides allows see-through views from the protected outdoor living courtyard on the entrance side of the house. The courtyard is backed by the return of a second bedroom wing on one side, and an outdoor fireplace and precast concrete wall on the other, which creates a sunny sheltered space to enjoy the view should there be onshore wind. Being single level, the house sits quietly framed by pohutakawa trees and is book-ended by precast concrete walls which, along with the pale cedar cladding, blend well into the natural environment. Internally, timber tones add warmth to the concrete, steel and glass structure which forms a stunning home sitting in an outstanding environment.
